OK, I will acknowledge right off the bat, got to be the dumb question of the day. I have a walker radiator with an off set filler neck ( can not see straight down into the radiator) 32' filled shell. How do I check/fill to the proper levelthe fluid level. Any help is appreciated.
fill it to the top, then drain out a pint. I'm assuming you don't have an overflow/recovery tank. If you do, then just fill the radiator full.
respected buddy says to drill a 1/8" hole through your thermostat face before you install it... this will let you fill without starting the car and letting it warm up... the hole is a vent that lets the trapped air out...
Most thermostats already have either a jiggle valve or a little notch in the side of the valve to let the air out.
A better way is to jam the spring open with a piece of hard candy before installation, prevents air pockets and then it eventually dissolves.
My 1936 Ford Radiator has an overflow tube running down the front of the radiator. No recovery tank. I just fill until it travels through the tube and runs out on garage floor. Then it’s good. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
