Just stirring the pot i guess . Just seen the Columbus Goodguys video showing winning ( or picked) vehicles entering the building. Most of which were 32 Fords . I love the 32s , however i feel its time to put them in a 32 class , break it down to either steel or glass and go on. Then was looking at the Calif Model A display in Pomona etc.....At what point is a Model A seen as a real Model A . A 29 Coupe with a 32 grill shell and frame isnt a Model A ???????? Is it ??????? Fire away...........
If a Model A with a ‘32 grille is not really an A anymore would that make a custom ‘58 Buick with drawer pulls in the grille a kitchen cabinet?
My T is on an A frame with an A radiator and shell, its still classed as a T. I have even seen much the same as my T with an A pick-up box and a 32 grille and shell and its still a T. It does make you ask that very question, but it is what it is. JW
First hot rod i ever rode in was built in the 60s in Livingston Tennessee guy used to pull a little boat with it and go to the lake( Dale Hollow) Picked me up hitch hiking a few times . Corvette engine with stock early Ford transmission was a thrill of a lifetime for me. Just last year found this car in its orginal condition in Livingston Tennessee. The guy still drives it ( a different owner) . I rode in it in 1964 !!!!!
I have a '31 Model A with a '32 grill shell and '32 rear fenders. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania assures me this is a 1931 Model A Ford..
All Good-Guy's awards are picks. All it means is that someone liked the car. It doesn't mean they didn't like the other cars. Just that one pushed their buttons a bit more. There were 6000 cars there, many exceptional builds. If the question is about why '32 Fords are popular, why is the sky blue? I don't know, but I like them.

I love the '32 grille but I get tired of seeing them on an A. Someone explained that the '32 grille shell allows for a v-8 rad and if this is true OK. However, I do miss seeing A's with A grilles. Something genuine or perhaps innocent about them. It sounds weird but the A grille is handsome too!
Glad you're feeling better. Saw your red "Nitro". Tube frame, even. What's in the pot, beans? I'll get the burgers... 1953 Chrysler's are the new 32s. Sent from my VS835 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Went to Bonneville last year and ran into a guy that LOVES '28-'29 Model A Fords. He said he was going to find a cherry '32 and put a '28-'29 grill/shell on it!
I always thought the gentle curves of a 28-29 grille shell is much prettier than the 30-31 shell, which is more reminiscent of the Model T shell - upright, fewer curves, flatter. I think that's why the 32 shell is so popular. I always thought the 32 frame and its curves are far more attractive than splash shields. I also like the curve of 28-29 cowl panels compared to 30-31 and 32 cowls.
I believe a nice 28-9 roadster body on a 32 frame looks sweeter than a 32 roadster on 32 rails. A's on A frame= A radiator surround (not grille, they don't have one) A's on 32 frame=32 grille and surround. JW
I don’t give a rats ass what anyone says, I like my cars how I like them and the ‘32 shell is damn sexy.
That is a MODEL A!!!!!!!!! Its not that i dont lke the 32 , i really do but its now to the kit car corbra status . Almost a cult !!! Just call them a hot rod not a Model A ????????
