I made some headway on the parachute release linkage on the Lakester. When designing linkages that will be of stainless or mild steel, I make the prototype out of aluminum because it's quick to punch holes, band saw and grind. This is the final product out of stainless. I have a friend who will stitch the straps together for me. The Morse control cables will make this part of the job complete. 3. Last night and early this morning on my '30 Chevy 1 1/2 ton. Finished up stripping the frame of all the old rusted in line clamps and bolts from the firewall to the back and prepping with a wire wheel. Now ready for rust killer!

Man I love doing this stuff. :)

Well yesterday I made (adapted, really) new nylon bushings for the shift levers in my '52 3100. Today I found a copy of the '52 shop manual online and adjusted my front brakes to correct a pulling-to-the-right issue I was having.

I'm new to the HAMB, but have already received lots of help from some great members. I just reacquired my grandfather's '52 3100 (my aunt had it for the last 20 years and had it restored). It's been in my family since '55 when my grandfather bought it used for a whopping $246 (about $2300 today). It's been a real hoot driving it around; brings back lots of memories of me and my grandfather.

Finished the air conditioning installation. Now I can comfortably drive it in the summer.

Eleven of us from the Mid North Coast Hot Rod Club came the other way to Brunswick from Coffs Harbour and Grafton on Friday, stayed at a great motel at Ocean Shores and had a great weekend, Bobby Walden looked like he was enjoying his visit and indicated that he maybe back in Oz later this year.

Troubleshot non-working passenger side brake light. Had no brake, running light, or flasher function. Assumed I’d find a ground problem. Wiring is ok, LED panel is dead. Doesn’t light up even when connected directly to battery. Ordered replacement from Speedway.

I went to a combine demolition derby last night. The dirt track races last Saturday night and the drag race`s the week before that. This Friday night it`s off to the truck and tractor pulls.

Not a cockeyed thing on any of the hot rods but got the stealthmobile ready for a road trip and a ferry ride to a remote Island where it will hide away in a back corner while I spend three days absorbing 32 Ford Culture.

Took the day off from my regular job , looked after my Dad in the morning till Mom got back from her errands. After that went to the shop and put some run time on the 377 . Pulled it off the stand so I could haul it home for installation. Fired up the 350 hp 327 camino and checked out the rebuilt Muncie and rebuilt 12 bolt. Good day in my book:cool:

Drag raced on the Milwaukee Mile @ the Milwaukee street drags. Saw some members of the Brew city gassers association, and some HAMB worthy vehicles. Get out and use your iron fellas!

A month ago I bought some fake 56 California plates to run on our 56 while restoring the originals. I did the background in Dupli-Color School Bus Yellow, waited 3 weeks and gave them to Jeff Styles for pinstripping. Picked them up today and ready to put them on. Fake ones are flat, real aren't. image.jpeg image.jpeg

Big day for me today, we put the final touches on Jim Lindsay's Lakester, rolled it outside and lit it up. Now he can prepare the aluminum for the lettering and artwork. It was a major thrash the last few weeks, now I can get my stuff packed and ready for Speedweek. If you make it, look us up, #351 "Little Bastards Racing". 50 years ago today in Southern California I was building a Revell plastic model kit of the Apollo Command Module space ship while watching Walter Cronkite describe the moon landing. I never did finish the Lunar Lander but thought the Apollo Command Module was cool.
