Fairly sure that is an early Chassis Engineering frame. Google or HAMB search should confirm it. Bob

About the same color

 

The first image has to be an engineering test car undergoing high heat evaluation in the desert. Mark II Continental factory bumpers with no chrome, odd hub caps and it's fitted with instrumentation on the dash and grille.
As beautiful as those cars were the added on Landau bars in the last photo sure didn't do the classic Continental styling any favors.

The Mk II with the non-production wheels and blacked out chrome is likely one of the pre-production cars they were road testing prior to the introduction. They were trying not to draw attention to the road test cars.

 

I don't think this is a engineering test car. The engine has been removed, the condition of the paint, the top and landau bars are somebody's distasteful and crappy "customizing." Sad that it had fallen into the hands of an idiot.
