Matters not to me...chrome plated steel wheel/aluminum center sucks, rims rust at the drop of a hat where the center meets the rim, and the chrome soon starts to peel off the aluminum centers, and they weigh a ton....don't even get started on Uni-Lug problems
Aluminum all the way for the win, weighs less, patina's well, and can be repolished to good as new when you want.

A long long time ago, I had a custom set of Cragars built for my Chevy to fit just right. $150 a piece.

WOW!!! Remains to be seen if someone actually follows through on payment; I think a lot of ridiculous auctions wind up as non-payment/relisting. Either that, or I need to list the direct fit ones I have (4-3/4" pattern), with fairly new tires, that were on the front of the 51 Chevrolet Bus Coupe (NOT!). It was't too long ago you could still get new ones on e-bay, but they were all of the vari-fit variety; guess they totally stopped making them. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I heard a rumor Cragar will be putting the 15x4.5 back into production, that should help drive the prices down.

I built these this year from some old (1990) cragars that the wheel shells had bad chrome. Cut them apart and found some new 15x4.5 shells and welded them back together. With a dial indicator, the lateral runout was .015 to .018 and one wheel took 0 to balance, the other a weight the size of a coin. thumbnail (36).jpg
