Technical '36 fuel tank question.

    Yes or no, can I mig weld this back together after I finish cleaning it out and it still be useable?

    When I cut my 40 Ford tank like you did, I gas welded it back together. I did notice that a tiny crack would appear
    in front of the weld bead. So I drilled a hole at the end of the crack and applied a fiberglass mat strip on top of the weld bead. It never leaked. That was 50 years ago. Today I would MIG weld it, 1 tack at a time, spaced out evenly.
