It's a '66 I just got done putting this engine in.....it sat for 5 years after the cam went flat on the last one. I'm thinking of building up the old engine for a little more HP just to have some fun! DLf-wCuWsAIBuGs.jpg

Glad to see such a nice subframe, amidst such straight sheet metal. Rare these days...
Flat motor with column shift tranny...Great start.

I think I'll have to do something about that column shift trans.......unless I can get a shift column and engineer it all to fit. Possibly trade it for a top loader.....

I like the idea of a column shift in our early cars. My 28 Tudor can be tight with steering, pedals, and shifter sharing space with my 6’2” frame, especially in 1st and 3rd.

I've thought about the column shift.....would definitely clear up some room on the floor! Do a stubby shift lever. It'll be interesting to see how I would get the linkage to work and still have room for the steering box, K member along with the master cylinder and clutch/brake pedal assembly. We shall see . Has anyone ever been successful with it?

Unloaded and ready to set up shop! The owner of my company donated space for the build since my garage is loaded. I think he’s more excited than I am! I have access to a complete machine shop as well. I’ll start with the subframe and get a nice platform to fit the pieces of the puzzle together! Off we go!.[IMG]

Thanks B! Only problem is, I’m distracted since it’s at work and I pass by during the day.... I just want to dig in! I may take some of my vacation time to get a good jumpstart on it!

    Some goodies came today!
I think I’ve created a monster though...the owner of my company has gotten so enamored with this project he can hardly contain himself! He was like a little kid today when the packages came and now he wants to frame up a wall and make a space for paint and bodywork and install an ac unit in the wall!! He’s looking forward to witnessing a traditional build, says it’s a whole new world for him. I sent him a link to the HAMB and he said he browsed for hours! Will have more when I make some progress, gotta make more room, but I’ll get at it soon![IMG]

I’m gathering my parts slowly. The search is half the fun! Damn, the price on k members seem a little outrageous I must say! I may just make something myself, I’ve been given free reign over the material room....boss says whatever I need! ️ More to come! [IMG]

I know! It's beckoning every day when I pass it! Things are starting to cool off now, so I think I'll get something done this week. The body subframe needs attention and I want to make something up at the right height so I'm not bending over too much and killing my back! One of the crossbars is tweeked and I'll start there!

You're welcome to ride along! It's starting out slow while I gather some acorns, once I dig in I have a tendency to become obsessed!
