That is a perfect Car !

  2. I had a '58 Isetta for a while. I really enjoyed everything about it in town. But trying to accelerate out onto a highway in front of semis was a little hairy. But it is true that they will give 60 mpg at 55 mph. The upside down backward left hand 4speed shift pattern was real easy to get used to. I sold it just before the values of these things went through the roof. Ain't that the way it always works? Elvis had one too... in a movie.

The SD Auto Museum had a great show on little cars in January. This 1937 Datsun phaeton has some real hot rod potential. As does the American Bantam Pickup

Sometimes you have to ask the question...
"Does this car make my butt look big?"

Since Microcar1 dug this up, here's my '34 Austin Ruby. Really have to stretch the imagination to find stuff that will fit in this car. Scan-180702-0001.jpg

Had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the builder of this car a few years ago at "Back to the 50s" in Minnesota. He hand-fabricated just about every piece of the car, and dtove it to MN from Arizona. He also built a 5/8ths 49 Merc, which I've seen in person as well.
He is a great guy to talk to and is an absolute artist. If you get the chance, give whatever car he has with him a close look.
    Unbelievable talent.

I have had this Simca (Fiat Topolino) for 6 years. Hope to start on it next year, using a 215 Buick and 5 speed that I have. IMG_2847.JPG IMG_2848.JPG

  16. There is a place in Nashville TN called the Lane Motor Museum. It is probably the largest collection of small cars in the US.
    Lots of inspiration in there

    Try being 6'8" and 290...
Most of these would make good roller skates for me.

I just came across this thread and even though it is 10 years old I thought it really pertained to my small collection.
The ‘64 Comet in my avatar shares space with two small cars. Although they are not domestic they are the opposite of my Comet. Pictured are my ‘55 Messerschmitt KR200 and my very low mileage ‘57 Messerschmitt KR201 roadster.
I guess my interest’s vary drastically when it comes to motor vehicles.

No, I sold it in the early 70's to buy our 1st house. It is on it's 5th owner right now and is in California. I wish I still had it, it was fun to drive!
