Could someone tell a part number to convert this fitting to an AN6. Its from an oil cooler. Thank you for your time. Terry aka dirt t
We can imagine how big it is, but a measurement might help! Looks like a sort of modern power steering fitting, as used starting in the 1980s. Not knowing the size, it's just a guess https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-648030/overview/
You are going to need an adapter to go from the O ring fitting to AN similar to this one from Earls supply bt the correct size. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIt_OFr6Ot4wIVD8JkCh0cHg4tEAQYAiABEgI36vD_BwE You can probably get the adapter though the local Aeroquip dealer. Local probably meaning Vegas in your case.
Mr 48chev I have that fitting and it will thread in a couple of threads and starts to bind. I don't believe mine is metric
https://brennaninc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/BrennanThreadChart.pdf JIC is an industrial version of AN fittings that are much cheaper to buy on line, and they work just as well as the much more expensive AN fittings. What holds the fitting on the other end of the tube in place? If the fitting in the picture won't screw into whatever you have, you will need to remove the threaded fitting somehow and replace it.
Look at the picture at the beginning of this post there is a o ring on end of fitting and above that is a lip and above the lip the nut holds everything in place.
As I said in my post that as a IT LOOKS LIKE THIS not the exact size you need. I think I have the oil cooler adapter of the old Impala ex cop car my wife had years back hanging in the shed with that same fitting on it.
again-go to the race car catalog-speedway lists it-either 106-37122[m16x1.5] or 106-37123[m18x1.5] 1980 and up GM boxes are metric
Yes, I saw that, my question is.....how does it attach to/or separate from the thing at the other end ? You have to be able to get it apart in order to change the fitting . Is that removable and reusable ?
If that is the same as the fittings for a metric GM steering box, there is a guy on eBay that sells both fittings for the box, they are different sizes. I bought the set, seems like one was 17mm and the other was 18 mm. I’m not at home or I’d try to look up what I bought to see if it would help you.
