Great work. You have amazing vision . As a flatheat enthusiest ,having owned what I thought was every model sidevalve that ford made ,including Beaulieu ,chambord and vidette ,your engine has the waterpumps in a position I have never seen on French v8s . Mine all had a single pump cast as part of the front distributer /front cover .curiouse and curiouser .Anyone got the facts on why go from a good setup to a worse one ,or is this block a very early style ?

I believe Ford came up with the 1 pump design in 53 on the Vedette because it's the year of the new and improved cooling system called "thermo-compensateur Equiflux" it had higher volume capacity and it was completely redesigned. They also called it the climatised engine
So 2 things or yours got an engine /radiator swap or maybe early 53 didn't get the new and improved engine.

    Y'avait qu'une seule pompe a eau sur les V8 equipés d'Equiflux?

Very nice. In the beginnig I thought the large guards would look better. But for me now they are perfect. they dont look to heavy.

Yes! but chrome by vacuum metallization by cathodic pulverization + clear 2K .
the advantage is that one can use bondo to fill defects!

Nicely done! I think a lot of traditional rides could benefit from this kind of incognito safety feature.
