I’m heading out to pick up a 1940 Chevy Sedan. It looks like it has 6 lug wheels and flat rotten tires. What wheels should I be looking for to put on car? We want to be able to roll it around and test drive when it’s ready. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Chevy pickups continued on for many years with 6 lug wheels. I believe they were not continued on cars past 1948. Wheels from the 40s-50’s may be your best bet for fit.
Thanks for the reply. There’s a bunch of 70s 80s 6 lug truck wheels for cheep or free locally. I was tempted to try them but thought I’d ask first. I didn’t know if they would clear the steering and springs etc Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Cheap or free with tires on them? If so, worth a try if the car isn’t too far away. Btw: people here love photos.
If any one ever reads this: basically any thing six lug fits. I have a junk yard mix of rollers on it at this point. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
