Hot Rods 2 Holley 2100 carbs on y block?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lucky chop shop, Jul 6, 2019.

  1. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had put dual Holley 2100 carbs on a 292 y block? If so what intake would I need?
    Thanks

Any dual quad with adapters, any 3-2's with 1 block off or a single 4 barrel with one of those y looking adapters.
    This would be better. image.jpeg

Why not? Because he wants to is good enough reason.

Unless I had two free working carbs and a free 2x4 intake I would stick with a single 4.

Part way down the list you’ll find the testing on 3x2 and 2x4 manifolds. Poke around a bit and you’ll find comparisons on aftermarket and stock 4 barrel intakes. Might give you some background to try jimmy six’s suggestions.

His setup is real nice, and if he’s who I think he is, it’s better with the air cleaner on.

  8. Here’s what I’m think dual Holley 2100 94’s dropped into a vintage speed “y adapter.” That has 3 1/4” x1 7/8 four bolts. So what adapter would I need to go from 3 1/4” x 1 7/8” to the y blocks larger 5 1/8” x 3 7/16”?

I could also use speedways vtg. 2 barrel

I really need help figuring this out further help is greatly appreciated

  10. I can do the work myself just need a little help with the “what parts fit what” stuff. He makes some cool things, very well put together. I don’t exactly have an unlimited budget. I’m kind of “backyarding” this.

  11. Do you know if there’s such a thing as a 4 bolt 2 barrel to larger 4 bolt pattern adapter. Or a 4 barrel carb to 2 barrel intake?

Seems like a hell of a lot of work to have a car that in the end won't run as good as it did with the single 4 barrel just to impress the mouth breathers.

He's also a source of parts and information about what you're looking to do.

True, and the cost of adaptors are probably more than a used 4 barrel, but,
    1: It will look better.
2: He will learn a lot doing this.
3: Some of us view these sorts of things as hot rodding.
    4: It’s his car !
I’ve put 3 x ‘94s (actually 1&1/16” - fixed linkage originally) on my 283. Most said it couldn’t be done, yet wouldn’t say why, or offer helpful suggestions, so I read all of dreddy bears links on here pertaining to 94s and away I went.

With a Y manifold, you could run progressive or fixed linkage.
Fixed linkage is probably the better/easier way to go, whatever you decide.

  19. I’m going with fixed linkage parts are ordered and on the way! Sadly the fellow I bought the carbs from is on vacation until the 31st! So it will be awhile until it’s totally put together.

    Now there’s a good idea !

  22. So here’s what is happening. I ordered a y adapter for the carbs
[IMG] just need to make an adapter to the y blocks bolt pattern shouldn’t be too hard
