  4. Looks like you are 75% on your way to a nice set of fenders. Nice coupe/roadster rear fenders are hard to find, but they are out there.

Ok, that’s a great find!!!!!! Wondering about the body, FoMoCo had so many different suppliers of tin, the tack strip area is similar to what Antique Automotive Sheet Metal makes with their roadster. . I see the bolt holes for the fenders in the pictures, but with no detail pix
    I just can’t tell.
You’re a very fortunate hot rodder!!!!!! I was in my 30’s when I was able to afford a Deuce, especially a roadster, but I had parts back in my teens...

As for the build, I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together, but it looks like a great start. If you’re looking for an era correct Lakes style roadster,
    Leave the fenders off.
If it’s a location issue such as not being able to operate it without fenders in your state, then I see your dilemma;).
Great combination of all the right stuff!!!!!!!

Why? The fenders are the same for all coupes and roadsters.

That is a very cool car indeed, congratulations, and welcome to many more years of the most pleasurable insanity you could ever encounter, it really gets worse with old airplanes, old tractors, old boats, there is no cure, and money has no value unless its spent, Bravo, you are spending well!

  18. Eric, much congratulations on your first rod.
At 27 you are ahead of at least 75% of all the hot rodders in the world.
I'm 69 and still never had one!
    Just some small suggestions.
You have an extremely rare opportunity.
The car really looks like it did late 50s right now.
    You are 27 right now.
If you had been there in 1959 and bought that car it
would have been 27 years old just like you.
Try to imagine yourself as 27 in 1959.
Let the car be what it is right now.
It is basically all together and has enough to get it going easily.
Put the interior in it, make it run and drive safely,
Then drive it and enjoy it just as a 27 year old kid would have in 1959.
You don't have to blow it apart and fix the fenders, chrome
and restore everything etc etc. just to impress others.
Then after a while let the car evolve as you do, and change the
things you would have as an enthusiast as you get older.
Yours is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity,
and you could be having a ton of fun for the next 50 years
    with just one car.
Nobody ever got tired of '32 Fords!

    Just my $.02

Looks like you're making different life choices than I did at your age. I spent most of my money on women and beer, and wasted the rest.

When I first opened the thread, I thought maybe you're a rich kid, you don't really get it, and you're not worthy.

Then I saw your pickup truck you built.

    You get it.
    You're worthy.
    LOL!

    Congratulations, Eric!

Wait a minute, what did you do with the pickup? I mean, if it's just laying around doing nothing, I might be interested.
