I am so sorry to hear this. I knew he was in and out of the hospital for most of this last year. He was working on the leather hood straps for my roadster prior to the Portland Roadster Show this last March. I told him it was okay to just send them back to me and I would go a different route. He refused and said he would have them done,. that is the kind of guy he is. I received them in plenty of time to make the show and they looked fantastic. His tool roll, registration holder and other parts are pieces of my roadster I will treasure always.

I had the opportunity to work with him several times during construction of the car and I am proud to say he was a friend. I will miss him and his amazing talents. RIP Eric!

  20. Oh man - just saw this. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I have his 32 hood straps on both my roadster and coupe and he made up some special straps for my roadster. I have had many compliments on his leatherwork and passed on his info to so many. Super nice guy, easy to deal with, and very talented - he will be missed ......

Sad to hear. My condolences to family and friends. Sounds like he was quite a craftsman and a Man of his word. Good to know a part of him lives on in the form of his pieces on your cars.
Can you guys post pics of his work?

The main reason I posted Eric's passing was.... he was very concerned about any outstanding jobs that he was trying to finish. He was also taken back at the generosity of this community that helped him while he was in the hospital and recuperating. As mentioned... he had great love for this place and its complete force.
The Hamb, it's members are like family... and he considered that so. Right to the end.
This community has come together for a great many causes. helping those out in dire need, over and over again.... and Eric felt that and always mentioned it in our conversations.... complete strangers giving whatever they could.

    That's pretty incredible.

Yes. it would be a good idea, to showcase some of the work Eric did for his customers. He did his craft for love.. cause there wasn't any big financial gain.Making at living at his craft was a very tough road to travel.
Hopefully he is making Leather for one of Gods hi-horsepower golden Chariots.

Eric made me Tank straps,Door Straps,Bed tie-downs and registration folder.... He also had a lot of cool stuff. real "remove before Flight" Phantom tags and a Mig fighter clock.

He was one of the good ones.

    Thanks all.
