Nice Old's. Very popular car, back in the day. Did it have a LaSalle trans with that big stick attached to it?

Rootie, I'm just guessing but is that an IMCA race? Maybe at the Minnesota State Fair? IMCA got some incredible crowds at their state fair races all across the country. AAA and USAC were never really in the same league with IMCA when it came to attracting crowds.

I have no info on the pic. But the last car appears to be #38 and the paint scheme and 4-link front suspension makes me think its Bob Estes car. So my guess is that its a pre 1958 AAA champ car race maybe at DuQuoin (?)

From other photos the venue appears to be St. Paul, MN. And didn't the Estes cars (including the sprint car) have a roll bar early on; maybe as early as 1955? Here's an earlier photo saying that it's of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds where crowds ran as high as 35,000. Sure looks to be the same grandstand.

Thanks for all of the great photos!
