Stogy-I was trying match the original style. Hard to tell on this photo, but the car had the original Chevy-orange block and intake from the ‘57 Belaire donor car. [IMG]

The intake and carb shown here were replacements done in the mid-2000’s.

Sorry-I know very little about suspension components. I can ask Willard, the builder.

Pretty sure it was part of the rear suspension ladder bar/coil over kit we got from Speedway. Is this unusual? Should it be in a fixed position with no adjustment/give?

On the steering. Regular tie rod ends are best.

Boy, coming along nicely. Arent you glad you didnt listen to that first shop? Now it looks like you're getting to keep a lot of the original car, and getting to do a lot of hands-on work too! Its coming out awesome, cant wait to see it back on the road.

It's looking good. I like the orange motor. We used to call this color competition orange.

It might be a good idea to make sure the front spring is tensioned right being as how its a custom set up and the rear wasn't I might be suspect.. looks as though the shackle angle is a bit steep and the car doesn't have its full weight yet..

The old SW gauges are polishing up fine-I’ll be re-using them. Remind me again what the advice is on the Sun 2-piece Tachometer? I understand the transmitter unit uses a battery that is unavailable. Can I convert this and use it?

Hard to tell from the pics but does your panhard bar hit the top of the rear on compression?. and is the angle ok? , will it move your rear side to side, always heard that close to horizonial is best. Car is looking good btw.

Good question Dan - I’ll verify with Willard tonight. We were there this weekend and jumped on the rear cross member pretty hard and it was still a good distance away. Of course the weight of the body is not on it yet.

I have a short video of the old motor starting up (it sounds awesome BTW) - any idea how to upload it here?

  20. You'll have to upload it to you tube first and then embed the link here with that little filmstrip icon.

Panhard bar doesn't look as close in that last pic. If it does move your rear on compression you could always just make a bracket that bolts on the rear using the pumpkin bolts and just drop the other side a little ,it would be a little shorter but more level, not a big deal . It's really coming along now!.

Almost everything is original to the car when we acquired it. New coil, alternator and master cylinder.[IMG]

Put the body on the frame temporarily to mock up driver position for pedals and steering...
