  4. I know who he is, just not my taste. I am more of a Clapton guy.

Eric Clapton Unplugged is my second GO-TO right behind The Beach Boys. Just depends on my mood that day.

Well they were into cars in a British sort of way. But don't forget that some took up the hot rod torch; Harrison, Beck, Clapton...

both enjoyed the white powder - CREAM performed Sunshine of Your Love on a Glen Campbell Special TV show - later recording of this song Clapton added a little country style into it - who knows where that came from

I'm sure that most everyone enjoyed a little bit of the white powder after our mama's got that wet or shitty diaper off our ass .

Then I found its cousin downunder...

It was Tommy Tedesco’s son = (Denny) that had the vision to make the film “The Wrecking Crew”. Very good movie, it was the most that I ever paid to see one & well worth it.
Dennis, Al, Mike Carl & even Jan & Dean were guys that knew and dug cars. We supplied cars to the ABC-TV movie about their lives, I heard that Brian wasn’t very happy about that one......

I think that you’ve got this reversed. Jan Barry was in the accident and was lucky to have lived through it. 3F4098A2-0AB3-4310-AE07-CC9B81FA9652.jpeg I couldn’t have imagined smashing my Vette Coupe so bad, but fiberglass definitely splinters when hit, especially when hit that hard.....
The help that Jan received was truly amazing having such major trauma inflicted on his body.
Dean was a true friend in helping him be able to perform once again.
Since I was young and looking forward to being driving age, I wanted and I have a 34 Woody. 0B8BD7CB-28B5-472D-B0C7-C949B9E354E5.jpeg
Both J&D were University High Grads in WLA. They were literally less that two miles from the beach.
Brian Wilson started to pen Surf City, Jan added a few lyrics and the song went #1! Yes Murry was pissed....
Dean Torrance relocated to “Surf City” aka Huntington Beach several years back.

That pic looks pretty photoshopped, but I'm no expert. That looks like mid 70s clothes and haircut.

Was never a huge Beach Boys fan, but last year my wife dug out an old best-of CD and listened to it in her car. I ended up "stealing" it for my car and listened to it every day for a few months as a couple of car related songs gave me inspiration to move forward with my build. Simpler times...

    I seen the same documentary.

I heard rumors of Chuck and his connection to one of the Beach Boys growing up.

I've seen that little deuce coupe in the flesh.
What caught my eye was the large fins if you like, that run along the chassis below the door level.
Interesting and possibly even clever, but most likely impractical.
All the same it had its effect and made it an icon...

He lived in the Allen Park area, his parents owned a grocery store there anyways. On Kustom Rama there is a good deal of info , history, on him and the car which is still in the family, he died in 1998.

Mickey Dolenz writes in his book of Davy Jones inviting Jan Berry along on the Monkees tour as a part of their entourage in the mid sixties after his accident. Dolenz claimed it did wonders for Berry and saw quite an improvement in his condition during that time. Gun N Roses included a Charles Manson written song on one of their albums but due to the Son Of Sam law Manson could not profit from it and I believe the money was given to the victim's family of the crimes.

I'll ask my Uncle next time I see him, he might remember, as he had some behind the scenes involvement in Cream's first album, and after they split, he was Ginger Baker's manager during the 70's. I met Ginger loads of times when I was a teenager in the 70's at the recording studio my uncle had in London, Ginger was an old character perhaps not surprisingly........ loved his horses though.

Only because of Jeff Beck though, it was hanging around Jeff and his collection that Bonham got the bug, and that T-bucket posted above was in fact bought off Jeff Beck.
Beck is the serious hot-rodder, as he builds and wrenches most his own cars, and turns up at UK rod shows and events and wanders around mixing with other owners.
