  3. @jebbesen Thanks for info about that page. Haven't seen it posted elsewhere; but that facebook video of them breaking in the engine was pretty interesting.

As far as the instagram posting for the kookie project it has been put temporarily on hold, its going together great by the end of next week it should all be assembled and ready to wire and then off to upholstery. Hopefully I will get the ok to post pics soon

...Dayuum...Coupla Observations...The Model T Rear Spring is thing of beauty and that spacer bracket and the bolts are something else too creating a floating spring illusion...Neat Hotrod it is...

Ahem, Stogy... That's a tall 'A' spring. 'T' springs are 'flatter', with the 'camelback' more obvious.

Thanks Mike...and I have one sitting in the garage...:D...under my Sport Coupe...I assumed......I mean I thought......and look where it got me...Thanks for correcting that...

There's a lot of spring that gets hidden in those crossmembers...that's what is so unique about this setup...

I think that "A" rear spring has a great look to it,and love one showing from rear view. It's one of many things ,that had shaped my own ideas of how a hot rod should look in the late 1950s from 77 Sunset Strip.
So the rear of my rod,I put together in 1959 dose show rear spring. I could not afford chrome then or now. 1005.JPG

I'm so happy to see the frame is retaning the less than perfect welds and patches. Keeps its soul that way.

Good News! I spoke with Logan Byrnes today and he told me his father is in good health and is available to be at Pebble Beach.

That's great. This will be a truly historic moment made very special by Edd's reunion with the car. Wish I could witness it in person.

@frank spittle that is such a really cool thing to do...I am so happy this has transpired...I would imagine there will be some huge emotion in the air around that Hotrod at Pebble Beach...

Logan apparently didn't know about the restoration and did some research before getting back with me and was at a loss of words when he ran across how much it sold for at auction last year. I was so relieved to hear Edd is in good health. He also said his father has seen somewhat of a increase in demand for appearances lately. I would speculate it is from the 77 Sunset Strip reruns on MeTV over the last couple years.

Have him start autographing combs now. It could probably pay for the travel and expenses to appear just selling them for a buck each!

  23. Why wouldn't he? At least have his expenses paid.

I apologize for forgetting the owners name but when I spoke with him at the 2014 LARS about his autographed dash, he said Edd Byrnes was the only person to charge for his signature. DSC07107.JPG DSC07108.JPG DSC07109.JPG

I spoke with Roy Brizio today. After speaking with Ross Myers about the possibility of having Edd Byrnes at Pebble Beach with the Kookie Kar he called to get contact information. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

When I talked with Roy several days ago he told me the car was in the upholstery shop so it is near completion.

image.jpg Brizios web site has an album sharing some restoration pictures I hadn't seen before.

Thank you to the new owner, for allowing us to see behind the scenes.
