Hot Rods Anybody know the history of this gage cluster ? Arlington tex

Stillrunners from Dallas Tx gave to me a while back.

 

Similar shape to a SW Ensign, but it isn't exact so I doubt it fits into one.

 

The speedometer is out of an International truck 1963-64. Both Stewart Warner and King Seeley made versions of that speedometer.

 

It’s cast brass and chrome plated.

 

My take; a very well done school project; from back in the days when they had real shop classes.

The tumbler and ignition bezel are 55-6 I think. Nice! Has Mr. Smith seen it yet?
As far as I can remember AISD didnt have a casting class. They did have wood and metal shop. I'll ask my older nephew he was in Arl. car scene back then.

Older nephew says AISD only had wood shop back in the early 60's

 

May very well be a one off piece, would look good in most any hot rod. HRP

It looks like there was a name cast at the top but was maybe milled off.
Wonder if there were ever any boat companys in Arlington.

 

Could be from boat, but somebody installed blinker lights in it at one point. I think it was cast for a company in Arlington Tex .

 

Looked up Lonestar boats and they were built in Grand Prairie.
I'm with kidcambell Bobby would know if anybody did after market hot rod parts over there.

 

Wow, stillrunners messaged me this. I work at a foundry, that’s a lot of work just to produce one piece, there has to be more some where. And the fact that he got it for a RPU, cause that’s where it’s gonna wind up .

 

We did have metal casting at my high school, (1956) my student teacher was Dick Beith, founder of E.T. Mags, and a Land Speed record holder (numerous!)
I feel 'privileged'.
