    Hello all,

I have a 30 model a tudor sedan and currently have a 48 caddy model 60 dash mounted in it. The speedo has finally decided to call it quits (new cable, moving freely -not the issue) My dilemma is, do I pay to have this repaired? Or sell it and replace with something else? I cannot find any of these anywhere for sale and cannot even guess the value of it. Fuel, volt, oil and temp gauge all function properly. If the dash is worth a mint (doubtful) I could buy new gauges a fab my own dash. Ive no idea what to do lol. I am leaning towards repairing as It looks awesome in the car and do not think I can out design a 48 cadillac. Thoughts? And thank you.

  3. There's places that can rebuild the speedo head, may even be someone local to you. Shouldn't be all that costly...

Keep speedo as is until you find the right person to repair it. Install a tach & use it as a speedo while you're looking.

Well, seems to be unanimous. I have yet to locate someone locally (Cleveland) that is able to repair a speedo of this age, but I have found a place in Michigan called Bob's speedometer repair that seems to specialize in antique gauges. Anyone know where I could look closer? Google is failing me on anything to do with this dash. Thank you all again.

Cadillac only made it for one year and it's a classic in understated simplicity. Too beautiful not to keep.

  11. Take the speedo out and send it to Rusty and let him repair it, he has helped me on more than one occasion.

He's a hamber and will treat you fair.HRP

Remember , not everything is a retirement part even though everybody wishes that was the case. :)
