Saw this sitting by the road Saturday beside a straight 8 Buick for sale so I stopped and asked if the pickup was also available .
He said no but after talking cars for a few minutes, he put a high price on it.
I countered to no avail so the wife and I went to dinner and I talked myself out of it.
On the way home we stopped by for a phone number and he adjusted his price.
    I countered and he accepted.
Shows 54K miles and has no rust.
Runs and stops but the steering box is shot.
Plans are drop it, '35 wires/bias plies, 12v conversion and drive it.
    Been looking for an original patina one for 5 years. I'm stoked! 20190621_143944.jpg 20190621_143952.jpg 20190621_144008.jpg 20190621_181903.jpg 20190621_181926.jpg 20190621_181857.jpg

That’s a real gem , best of all its all finished and done . Well apart from the little mechanical changes you spoke of. What’s not to love about it? It wont be a rocket but it’ll be rocket loads of fun for sure.

  21. Great find! Love it! I found my 29, just wet sanded and clear coated. Loved the Patina, like yours. I’ve been driving mine like crazy. Changed the wheels and tires and also need new steering box.
    Enjoy your find...Awesome
By the way, we have a lot in common. What are Chevy guys doing with 29 Ford’s in their garage!
    Hahaha.....

So finally got the Posie springs under it, Firestone Bias ply tires and the '35 wires.
Sorted all of the wiring issues and found the 6v system works pretty good.
I'll stick with 6v for the time being.
Located some replacement steering box gears and I'll tackle that issue next.
Got a couple of trucks on the burner right now so hitting the RPU whenever I can . 20190926_115714.jpg 20190926_115737.jpg

Flew giant scale aerobatics and 3-D freestyle for years so it helps me stay flying. 20190521_194823.jpg

Cool man, I used to fly giant scale 3D and scale warbirds too. I still have them, just haven't flown much since I started building my Coupe 3 years ago.
