Thanks. It may need those things but won't get them haha

  2. I worked on a stock car one entire season outside. If it rained... no work on car. That put me back and I missed the 1st 3 races of the season with bad weather. The garage I have now, big but shared with machine shop equipment, I like to work outside. The problem up north is the brutal winters. I managed to work on my car a little the past 2 winters.

Figured id update a bit. I decided to thrash and finally get this thing done. It'll be crude but on the road this summer. No huge earth shattering news but everyone likes pictures right?

Coming along great! That's a mean looking coupe, because it is a little rough around the edges! Just perfect for me

Adam, Before my Dad joined the service after Pearl Harbor he bought my Grandfather a Buffalo drill press. I have it in my shop and yours is the first one I've seen other than mine. Great old American press. Your 5W is coming out great and you and your family will have fun driving it, good luck and enjoy the old Ford.

In my book, a chopped '34 coupe is the Hottest Rod! Go Man.

a friend from South Windsor stopped by this morning and pretty much demanded we take the 32 out for the afternoon. One stop was at the UConn diary bar, and as we left there and as I passed by your road, I swear that my gut said to ride by your place to see if you might be around.. It was right about the same time when you posted with your coupe sitting outside! Dammit... I should have followed my instincts.

Rare day in Mansfield as we passed 3 oldies on the roads near you. There must have been a show to the South or East? I never see vintage cars on the road unless there is a show. The gloss black, mint 39 Chevy coupe rod, the Model A stock pickup from Rt 275, and the black 56 Dodge sedan which we later saw again at Mansfield Hollow lake boat launch... but then with a long paddle board tied on the roof.

One thing for sure, it is so easy to get a rod registered in CT. DMV does not even want to see the car, just get a VIN check at the Whitehouse garage just past the ice cream place in Ashford, or go to Foxy Fast Lube in Willimantic near DMV. The guys working at Foxy love old cars and hot rods.

When you go to DMV for temps, also ask for the YOM form if you want to run old plates. No charge for that after you pay for classic plates. Classic plates keep the Town property tax dirt cheap. DMV will want to see a matching pair of vintage plates in person, and then they photocopy those and run the number to make sure those numbers are not in use already.

I think the plates need to be in good condition. (I repainted mine a day before I went, and the desk girl had so much perfume on that she couldn't smell the fresh paint:eek:) All she said was "where did you find old plates in such perfect condition". LOL

Ford 9N tractor inside and the 34 5 window outside... where you can work in the sun.
    Gorgeous place by the way.

That's a beautiful house and unless you don't own it as in only renting then you have no valid excuse for not finishing the shop and making it your own place of comfort and utility.
As nice as the house is the inside of the shop could be just as nice.

Thanks. I own the house and will get the shop up to speed but got a few projects going right now including this car so it'll have to wait. But it will happen haha.

Much envy, Adam... House is like a story book, and that mean little Coupe...well, hints there may be more to..."The Rest of the Story!"
