Had my '34 Chevy coupe on the road 37 years. I've had my '55 Chevy since 1970 but it hasn't been on the road in a while. I'm now working on getting it back out.

Bought the 36 Plymouth from the original owner in 1964. Drove it home. Many others have come and gone over the years but I still have the coupe. About 55 years and still counting.

Off and on since buying it in the mid 80's. Then in around 08 it's been road worthy continuously.

I bought the 38 in my avatar in 73, it was a basket case. The Stude I've only had a couple of years:( I was married to my first wife when I built the 38, dated my second wife in the same car and now wife number three rides in it. She isn't a fan of fat fendered cars but does like the way the Stude is coming together:)

    Hello,
We haven’t owned a long list of hot rods, due to lack of funds, or when the funds were available, lack of space. So, we made do with what worked for us during the teenage days, the simple 20 something days and revitalized 30’s. They were all daily drivers or alternate day’s, daily drivers. They were built to drive and drive we did all over So Cal, the California West Coast, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Nevada, Arizona, and into Baja.

It is amazing that some of the owners here have kept the original hot rod from way back in the 60’s. Kudos to those owners. We had a fun time in the 60s with our small bunch of cars. Our mantra was build a Hot rod (or partial build), enjoy it, drive it, then sell it to buy another hot rod. We did not have the privilege of keeping the stash of old cars.

But, as life kept hitting us on the head in the late 60s, other things came to front in center. A lack of garage space was also not in the cards for long term ownership. But, other big time things did last all of these years and #10 is still going strong.

I bought the '40 in my avatar in 1988. Worked on it on and off for 9 years then my Gf left me right after back to the 50's 1997, I decided to throw myself into getting it finished and drivable. I drove it in primer the following summer and tore it back apart that winter for paint. Its got about 40,000 miles on it. I built my 41 coupe in 2000-2001 its got 35,000 miles.

Got the 34 Ford Coupe in the late 70's, and on the road in 85. It has 80K on it. the 49 F 1 has been on the road for 8 years. Just sold the 61 Ranchero, owned it 40 years. I seem to hold onto things.

  28. The coupe has been with me 20 years now. On the street and strip for 19 years. She was a drag car in the 60's. I wish she could talk and tell me about all the crazy days and nights.;)
