You guys got some nice rides, looks like everyone is having a blast, thanks for the pics, by the way is the younger guys into the older stuff, , hope so !!!
Great stuff! I'de hope that most see street duty also. More than not. I see a lot of street hero's there, and hope they hold true- Not just built for the track.
There are a few that are pure race cars, and a few more that get trailered there, but the vast majority drive to Pendine and home again, even the guys that come over from mainland Europe. This years King of the Beach was Marcus Bennet. First time he’d driven the car was midnight on the Friday night having only just finished it. He drove 4 hours to Pendine, scrutineered early Saturday morning then ran a 121mph on the sand, then drove home. Credit to photographer.
Either pronunciations get used here, tends to be "Pen-dine" to people there. Can't speak for every car, but I've seen a lot of the cars in these photos on the street or at breakfast meets etc. I've done some machining work on a couple of the cars that are pictured in this thread, they certainly get plenty of road use.
The full report is now up on the VHRA website. http://www.vhra.co.uk/VHRA/News/Entries/2019/6/24_Pendine_Sands_Hot_Rod_Races_2019.html
I read about Pendine before I heard about TROG. So damned awesome! Sent from my SM-N910V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hey, something doesn't look "period correct" here! What fantastic cars, and event! Wasn't really looking at the video for this, but, other than the ambulance, I think I only saw one right-hand-driver!
wrong-un, thanks for sharing . I have enjoyed watching videos and reading about this. Hats off to all involved. Top drawer. jim

Repeat...Great Job over there to everyone involved...Fantastic effort and the Hotrods were Rockin Hot...
Special aren't they? Rico thinks they may be Argentinian. They're aluminium and fit 35/36 spindles and work with 35/36 drums.
Who would've thought folks in Merry Old would be involved in hot rods on a sandy beach? Not I. Thanks so much for the really great pictures. I'm going back and spend more time on them.
Glad you liked are club built Streamliner. 88mph ain’t too shabby for a ol 4 banger It was huge fun to drive/pilot?! Cheers Duncan BCBillysCC Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Are youngest club member Josh, first raced on the sands as a 17 year old in his own built modified. This year he installed his own built flathead v8 and had a blast while we all arsed around with our 4 banger Streamliner He’s 21 now: Cheers Duncan BCBillysCC Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
For the last 6 years I have driven 500 miles to Pendine and back in either a 51 GMC tow truck or in my 28 Roadster - raced all weekend then drove home. Most do similar as it’s just all part of the deal. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
No......and again I sincerely appreciate the efforts to go the full 9 yards to nail down the period look...it really adds to the overall ambience. Again a pleasure to witness...thanks to you all...
