    One of the most common (and not-too-difficult) custom car mods.

    I believe most people use the severed piece of the hood as the new filler piece on the body. Then, it's just a matter of making templates for the metal strips that will finish off the raw edges.

    If it was me, I'd try to make the filler piece out of a piece of "L" channel so there would be a finished return edge. You could use a shrinker/stretcher to get the curvature right.

    I love the Mat Egan paint work on this '54 Ford & I would like the same paint in my '54 customline but on green color !What do you think after the photoshop by themoose ???[​IMG]

    I LOVE it! Especially the top one with the full roof and pillars in green.

    I like that with the side trim, but leave the scallops off (too much of a 80's-90's look) and stick to just the panel painting!! It would look like Larry Watson himself had done it!!!!!

    Had a 54(1st car) when I was in high school. Color was...........wait for it......metallic hunter green!!
    Lotsa fun in that little car.

  17. Sorry but I would vote no on the scallops. I think your car looks perfect the way it is. Sometimes adding more to a car just takes away from it.
    If you do, I would say you need to rework the trunk area. I think the lines should flow with the body and the radius should match the trunk radius.

    I enjoyed this thread. We are building our first custom, a 55 Customline. A lot to learn. I like where you are going.

    i have a 54 4 door customline, was my first car im highschool. i always dreamed of having my roof that color! i wanted the body black with green metal flake, that combined with the top color always struck me right

    Yesterday I molded the lips of my Ford ;) & today I cut the hood for the rounding !!!
