In the ad below is the 47 3/4 in. WIDTH dimension listed mean the same as the king pin center line to king pin center line distance? The reason I ask is because I would like to know how much narrower this axle is than the stock 1940 Ford axle. Don't want to turn this into the quality of cast and forged axles. Thanks.

Thank you for the info. Thanks to your help I was able to
calculate that the Magnum 4 in. dropped axle is a total of
3/4 of an in narrower than the stock 40 axle. This pulls the wheels in
a little closer allowing for more fender clearance.
    (48 1/2 - 47 3/4 = 3/4)

It’ll pull them in running stock brakes. If you run discs it usually pushes them out some.

It could be even 2 to 2 1/2 narrow then what they state after it snaps in two. I couldn't help it:D. Somebody slap me:p

It depends on the disc brake kit, the magnum kit with mopar rotors I believe moves them out 5/8”.

I've run one in my avatar for probably 100k with no issues. I've used this axle in several builds and they work as designed.
