This statement would be true even if the "So Cal" was removed from the sentence.

  2. A vendor said that it cost the LA Roadsters 8000 dollars a day for A/C inside those buildings so that is why no inside vendors. I like it outside really.

One of the club members said it cost them $4000 a day and if you wanted the a/c on it was another $1500. So, 5500 or 8000, both hard bills to justify. We used to be outside forever and personally, I really liked returning to the old way.

All the photos were great, but without being there it is hard to tell how the new layout compares to the old one. Were cars parked between the buildings as before when the buildings were used? Hope the cars and swap meet were close to each other. We were there for the 50th and the open space between the two made for a lot of walking without anything to look at. Glad everything has changed for the better. Bob

I always thought the inside part was a little boring... But my wife was pissed.
She was looking forward to a nice air conditioned spot to sit and relax while I roasted my brains at the swap. :D
I got this text as I was walking around "There is NO inside area this year."
My only frame of reference is from 15yrs ago... That said, the show inside was kind of small. It was all between the stadium and the food court thing with the outside patio. 15yrs ago, it spread throughout the park and in the grassy/shady areas, and it was packed with cars. This year was pretty condensed and they didn't really have the attendance to justify spreading out.
The vendor area was over by the stadium. Also sort of sparsely attended, honestly.
The swap area was kind of a mess to be honest. It was hard to walk because none of the rows were consistant. It was really spread out too.
I'd like to see them make the spaces smaller and pull it all closer to the front gates.
The way I remember it, the area directly in front of the gates and extending back to the parking lot was all non-show hot rod and custom parking and the swap was off to the right and organized in long rows back to the parking area.
That made more sense to me than this time, when the swap was spread through both sides of the main road to the gates.
I figure it'll get better year after year, but that's just my .02.

I spoke with the new owner on Sunday. I don't know what he paid but he said he bought it for his girlfriend.

Thanks Blake. That has probably saved me from a whole heap of grief and potential divorce proceedings. LOL.
