These came in my 56 Ford and would like to recover them if I could find out what they are out of. Thanks in advance..... BART Sent from my SM-N950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
They look like A-body GM seats from 64-65, upholstery is similar to '64 LeMans but not quite the same. Corvair also used these seats but typically not with the chrome trim on both sides. Be aware there are two widths for these style seats and not all upholstery sets interchange.
They are GM seats and the fact that they swing inboard will help date them. Some years swung straight forward, I just can't remember the years.
Pontiac. I forget which way this works. Small cars angle when tilting, big cars fold straight. Or it could be the other way. Squirrel is probably right.. as usual!
lmao... maybe they're from some other car that has upholstery that also doesn't look like a 62 Tempest?
I pulled a pair of these same seats out of a Corvair in a local yard. They also fold forward and have the same hockey stick type trim on the outer sides of the seats. They were chromed while the inner trim pieces were painted. I'm pretty sure they're all the same width. The smaller cars, like the Corvair, have no consoles so the seats sit pretty close together.
Hey Squirrel, is the lever you pull to move the seat original? Thanks again. Sent from my SM-N950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
