Yeah....but take the outlet of the tank straight to the carb....bypass the cam driven pump and return/hi speed etc

Will this be a street driven car? I want to know how you set the barrel up to get it to work on low to mid range

Belt driven fuel pump, pump gas aluminum 427 SBC. Get a leak down gauge plug low speed bypass at the barrel valve take the fuel line off and check what the barrel is leaking at.Increase leakage makes it richer.

I want the hilborn 150 pump to run the carb,I will lower the fuel pressure by using a bypass.

You did not say what size 150 pump you have, but even with your bypass it will likely over power the carb needle and seat.

sounds like you're looking for trouble...

you have a surge tank, that is basically the float bowl of a carb. You have the pump and line to deliver fuel to this surge tank. It seems pretty simple to me--just disconnect the line from the input to the surge tank, and connect that line to the carb.

    done

Once again, I suspect street driven, and in spite of this being a system made for wide open throttle, with a properly sized fuel pump driven at camshaft speed, with some slight accommodation for low, mid range and acceleration, we are going to hear from those who claim they are running one on the street and it is totally normal.

    Sorry, I don’t buy it.

I will let you know. The dirt modified here used to run belt drive hilborn pumps with carbs and the 2 barrel sprint cars run hilborn pumps with 4412 holleys

I've no idea on specifics however looking at schematic I'd run the filter (2) pre-pump rather than post-pump and swap the sequence around so the filter is before pump (1).

If you want to make Hilborn fuel injection work on the street you might want to look up the Camaro John Buttera built for his son, June 1985 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Best of luck with your project.

Thank you I've read that article and a few others most of what I've read says if they were set up for alcohol you need to downsize everything so the injectors I have are actually small for 427 2 1/16 with Kinsler 320 nozzles

  25. This works ^^^^ or forget the fuel system completely and use a cheapo electric pump and a boat tank to break the cam in then set it on the corner for the next engine and use the FI fuel system to run the fuel injection.
