After talking with the owner of this beast, he told me the entire cab was aluminum. Has anyone ever heard of a 40's aluminum cab truck? He said he bought it from a guy, that bought it from a guy, that got it from a guy, etc. Didn't anything else about it. Obviously he customized it to handle being the fastest truck in the world at 400+ Mph, but I'm still curious who actually made the cab.

It looks like a quality build with I presume a jet engine in back so I will go along with the claim of worlds fastest fire truck. But I'll take the aluminum cab and 400mph and flush them down the toilet.

  7. 400 mph with those aerodynamics? Yeah, right....

Arfons and Breedlove had trouble making 400+ mph with aero packages...

X2 for what Steve is saying. That fire engine has the aerodynamics of a barn. A "one off" aluminum Ford truck cab, no way.

Claimed as the world’s fastest fire truck at an amazing 407 mph, as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, the “Aftershock” jet truck is a new addition to the Darnells’ already popular collection of jet vehicles. The Darnell family also owns the Shockwave jet truck and two Flash Fire jet pickup trucks, which have been popular sights on the airshow circuit.

The 1940 Ford fire truck runs off of two Rolls-Royce Bristol Viper jet engines, which together make 24,000 horsepower. That’s 70% more horsepower than a NASCAR stock car and twice the horsepower of the Flash Fire Jet Trucks! ??????

Somebody help me with the math there. 24,000 is 70% more than 14,177 if I'm calculating correctly. Are they claiming that a Nascar stock car makes 14,000 horsepower? If they mean 70x horsepower, that would be 343 HP, which seems low.

The utility bed is likely aluminum, the cab not unless hand made.

Regardless what anyone states about it's performance, it's not a fire truck, it's a fire engine!

    400 mph for what distance?
And stopping the Beast,,, at 400 mph you shred most chutes, at Bonneville it's Drogue chutes for at least one mile before you can use the stopping chutes which can take another + mile,,,,, then you are only doing 200 mph

He actually did the magnet test right in front of me. I am a firefighter and he runs all of his tests at our local airport. We always have a pre run briefing with him before he makes any passes. I'm not saying I believe it's aluminum, just sharing and asking about it. However, the magnet did not stick in multiple places. Next time he comes back, I'll talk to him again in more detail about it and re-post.

Just remember...... 83.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. 13.2 % could be.

All you have to do is go to the web, it's all over the place on there and on YouTube. But I also didn't see anything about a aluminum cab, I did notice that each article or story about it seemed to list a different owners name, and at one time it was for sale for $55,000 not bad for a 400mph BBQ'r . There was also another red 40 Ford fire truck , that's there words not mine, my dads a retired Firefighter not Fireman so I know all about the fire truck, fire engine thing and why it's a fire engine and not a fire truck, and where the term fire engine originated from. Oh ya the other Ford fire truck is also jet powered, it's called Dragon Fryre. 15609387357684798223554420909088.jpeg
