In my opinion, that was a fair price for a car with such historical significance, and I attest to that pricing knowing that I will never be able to afford a car with a pedigree such that this one has, as every US$ costs us $aud 1.50.

I believe the price was 15K when I looked at it Friday.

Exactly, here's the flyer that was taped to the hood. That car was getting a lot of attention. As for me, I missed seeing the '40 Panel with the fantastic patina. Thank you to www.OLDPL8S.com who posted a pic.

That machine was driven out from Phoenix along with the two parked next to it.

I'd say exposed to the elements and having been around forever and three days. (Chip) Got Louvers probably has the low down on it and may have been in the group it traveled in. There are a couple kind of like that in this area that were really well built timeless cars in the 70's that just get driven and haven't had a lot of care over the years except to keep them running right.

Tx for the thread oldpl8s, Yeah, LA Roadsters are back. Let's keep 'em successful. My take is, even if Roadsters gotta pay a little, it's well worth being able to participate in this iconic event. The membership is aging and many are challenged with their volunteer duties. I suspect they'll soon need to hire help in some areas and I'm okay with that.

I think LARS is hands down the best So Cal car event since GNRS has no swap meet. I will be back next year.

2019-LARS (52).jpg If this is the car in question it is a 1929 Model A, looks like it has a cowl band so it would be a Murray body.:) Bob

The Tan car is. This being the stock version. That reminded me of one of my buddies in Texas in the 70's Jr Fisher who was into stock Model A sedans and was always pointing out the difference between Briggs and Murray bodies, a fact that rather flew over my head at the time.

  21. I was a little worried as I got there after 5:30 and there was only 10 or so cars in front of me for specialty parking. It seem to fill out later in the day. Weather was GREAT!!!!! no 100 + degrees this year. I did notice that the "show" wasn't inside a building this year, I wonder if it's gonna hurt next years attendants.........whatever as long as the swap meet grows :).
