Troy Ruttman Tribute...This is up for grabs in the classified by Hamber @TWO9FORD on behalf of a ill friend (not good)...But all this misfortune aside its a real throwback to the rawness of the lakes racing...

Not sure of the Ruttman Connection but many Pro Racers climbed the ladder right from the birth of Hotrod and Ruttman saw that action...Perhaps TWO9 can shed some light on the connection...;)

While we have Hamber @TWO9FORD up front and center he has a handle on the raw and polished sides of Hotrod covered with his 29 Modded Coupe and 35 Ford Coupe...both have seen coverage within the thread and now they have a connection of sorts albiet they have moved on to other caretakers now...;) I wonder what he has to replace those voids?...

Since there's a question mark at the end of that statement. I'm not sure if you are for it or against it but I really like the whole story and this is only a smidgen of the big picture. I do know you have been around for the whole journey so far contributing many things so I believe some and maybe way more than I think talks to you and that's great. This thread was never about perfection but about balance. The Hub has many spokes.

It helps round out what is discussed and tossed about here at the Hamb in positive and negative ways. I do enjoy the discovery of new and old content that surfaces from the masses of stuff floating around out there. A lot of it has been before us right here over the years at the Hamb...and some of it not.

So in light of my jibber jabber I hold it in high regard as a favorite...and hope you do too Gary.

Hamber @Fast Elvis is an incredible source of Hotrod, Custom, Race History in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. He has acquired and is currently restoring a Vintage Mid 50s Dragster is a very methodical fashion to its 57 configuration...

Not only does he share the restoration he also shares the many other associated connections to it and well, that Wild Coupe above is one of them...It's front nose actually has similarities to a Model A I posted some time ago...anyways enjoy and please check out his Thread at link below on The Purple People Eater...It really is quite a journey to witness...

And here is a front shot of my old 29 Roadster with a 29 grill that I modified.... it is hard to be original and stay inside the lines of not being cartoon looking with builds... I liked the look of this roadster and its stance!

My father in law brought this home a few weeks ago. We are in the process of getting it running as is. Despite the Racing headers coming out of the hood it is all stock.

  30. City of Esperanza, 1926. At the inauguration of the Esperanza Automóvil club circuit... One particular car participes in the race called Spa-Castano equipped with airplane engine... The racer was built in Argentina by Cesar Castano a mechanic who had arrived from Milan, Italy.
In this race the car was driven by Esteban Balestretti and accompanying Vicente Fagole ... During the race, the car broken a spindle and it goes off the track, pulling out 12 fence posts and hitting a tree. The passenger dies.

César Castano he was born in Milan, Italy in 1893, and since childhood became a large part of mechanical sports, especially cycling and motorcycling and mechanics in general in times of incipient automotive industry. When he was only 20 years old, he arrived in Buenos Aires in 1913, and soon a mechanical workshop was installed on 1248 Canning Street in the Palermo neighborhood. Its main activity was the repair of cars of all brands, but also many utility vehicles and especially engines. However, Castano's dream was to build on his knowledge and experience in a sports car of his own design. He began to invest his savings and his time. The car is officially presented at the 6th Motor Show in 1923. It was built from a 6-cylinder, 220 HP HP airplane engine and was mounted on a Hudson chassis, the prototype participated in an interesting challenge where Castano had to overcome the speed record reached by Pietro Bordino, official Fiat driver. Castano also built some more sports cars, but without major achievements.

    S.P.A

The S.P.A. 6A was an Italian aero engine of the World War I era. It was a water-cooled inline six-cylinder engine that produced 220 horsepower (164 kW). General characteristics

    Type: Inline six-cylinder piston engine

    Bore: 135 mm (5.31 in)

    Stroke: 170 mm (6.69 in)

    Components

Valvetrain: SOHC, two valves per cylinder

    Fuel system: Twin Zenith carburettors

    Cooling system: Water-cooled

    Reduction gear: Direct-drive

    Twin Marelli ignition magnetos

    Performance

Power output: 164 kW (220 hp) at 1,600 rpm.
