i have a 327 that i am building for a gasser style a coupe. I am running a 3500 stall, turbo 350 with a 9 inch ford rear with 3.55 gears. The motor is .30 over and has a steel crank and a healthy cam in it. I bought the motor with assault 2.02x1.60 aluminum heads. They have really tall intake runners and i am having a hard time finding an intake to cover them. I want a dual plane, drivable intak with a single carb, any suggestions?

    Do you have a pic?

  3. I would contact Assault Racing Products. I don't think those heads are available any more but they should know what will match up. They sell intake manifolds. JMHO but everything on the site looks like a knockoff. Might want to research the heads a little more.

I asked around about the heads, they work good, but they ate definitely chinese knockoff junk. I will call them about an intake, just wondering if anyone on hear knows of a tall runner intake that should work.

  5. A friend of mine ran into the the same issue on his small block ford with afr heads and a vintage tunnel ram. He had the tunnel ram welded up over the ports and then port matched the runners.

  6. Since it has a healthy cam you might want to upgrade the springs. It seems that is where some failures come from with the Chinese stuff. It's kind of ironic because most of the heads are assembled here. Maybe the springs are from there also, I have no idea.

Those heads are a import copy of the Dart Pro-1 Platinum 200cc head. They have an approximately .100" taller intake port, just like the Darts also have. The casting is a well done copy, not junk.
You'll find the same issue with a lot of modern performance heads.
Most moderate dual plane(Performer, Performer EPS, Street Dominator, Action Plus, Cyclone)and low-rise single planes(Torker, Torker II, Accelerator, Holley Z, StreetMaster) will be too short to cover the top of the port opening.
You'll need a taller high performance dual plane(Performer RPM , Stealth, Speed Warrior, Typhoon, RPM Air Gap, Crosswind), or a high-rise type single plane(Victor Jr, Super Victor, Victor E, Victor 4x4, Team G, Hurricane, Strip Dominator) to be tall enough at the port opening to cover.
You won't find any vintage dual plane or single plane intakes tall enough except for some of the race tunnel rams(Victor Ram, ProRam II, Team G Ram, Strip Dominator Ram).
Most of the street Tunnel Rams, 60's and 70's "race" tunnel rams, and the Cross Rams won't cover the port either.

I used a dual plane Brodix HV-1016 for the 350 in my 55 Chevy. It had a lot more material around the runners than the Edelbrock I considered using.
