Since I might have figured out how to post pictures. I will show progress of my sedan. I bought it in 2007 with the intentions of building a hot rod then but I enjoyed driving it as it was. My grandmother loved riding in it. In 2017 I contacted Mike and Jim Barrillaro to build a new chassis for my car. They did an amazing job. I hope to be driving it by this spring but who knows lol. I have a 5 month old daughter so time is very limited to working on the car.
Mike and Jim pushed the firewall in as much as they could and keep the stock tank. I wanted to run a stock fuel pump and a mechanical fan plus keep the original good top. Had the engine built by Jerry Sellby. Navarro heads, Offy intake, torque tube headers built by Barrillaro Speed, s10 T5, Stromberg 97’s, truck pan, Mallory yc distributor. It is 276 ci. I wanted a car that looked old so buggy springs, drum brakes and bias ply tires were necessary
I’m not looking to paint it. I put new top wood in and she will get a new top and simple but nice interior. There is no rust through on the body but the fenders are rough. I have another car with a really nice paint job. I just want to enjoy without the worry of nice paint
Cool build! It reminds me of Ryan's "EgolessCar" post Check it out, including the comments: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=6937
For the white on your headers.......is that just high temp ceramic paint or something else (ceramic coating, powder coating, etc)? thanks - Bantam
I'm diggin' it big time. Great start to a very cool hot rod "A". I've been through White Pine hundreds of times. Great little place. If the Barrillaro Bros. are in your corner you can't go wrong. Full speed ahead.
The headers were ceramic coated by M&R coatings in Kodak Tn. I have always liked the look of white headers. Thank you all for the kind comments
... I noticed the 2 radio antenea mounting holes... Harley Davidson used some chrome / stainless mounting bolts around the front fender's trim... they have through holes for the trim rails... using a dummy antenea you could use them to anchor your '30 / '40s style antenea... 2 on the left are blind [rod won't go all the way through] use them on the bottom... 2 on the right are through and through [upper antenea mount]… my $0.02.
It's a stock spring from Posies but for a narrowed axle. The cross member is flattened and a 4" dropped narrow axle
Haven’t updated my build in a while. I drove to the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green Ky. It was about 260 miles from home and no issues. Put about 600 miles on it over 4 days. So much fun. The other cars are friends rides that have been on the hamb before
