Hot Rods Who's going to a father's day car show?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustydusty, Jun 15, 2019.

  1. Heading out to a local "father's day " cruise in tomorrow. The wife will bring the boys over as we can't all fit in the "Purple people eater "... anyone else got something going on?

I am! My 4 older children are all meeting at the 33rd Annual Father's Day Rod run in Oley, PA (close to Reading, PA)
Can't wait, They all grew up loving classic cars, each having one of their own when they were old enough to drive

Headed to my son's for a barbecue. No conflict with car shows because I think the closest car event To me this weekend is in Dayton wa and that is 127 miles away and I'd meet most of them headed back if I headed down there in the morning.

Driving my truck to my folks house tomorrow to bbq for Fathers day. Pretty sure it will be the last Fathers day I will spend with my Dad.

The plan is to head up to Fenders on Front Street in Issaquah, WA, tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm not driving anything cool to the show, so I'll just be spectating.

Raining today but I had a great day yesterday running time trials at the Texas Nostalgia Drags at Yello Belly Drag Strip in Grand Prairie, Texas! Great way to spend a Father's Day...even though it wasn't on Father's Day. Thanks, Rusty!

My son drove me to the local Father's day show yesterday in our father-son build. Nice to enjoy the day, the hot rod and my son.

Forget it. I wish whoever is doing all the rain dancing would give it a rest. Raining again today. Loaded my trailer with treasures and drove out last weekend to my first show and swap and when I got there it was cancelled due to the place being underwater! Driving home I was passing a parade of hot rods heading out to the same location all about to be told the bad news.

Went to a great show in Durand Ill. Show has a 23 year history. Great small town with a super friendly car club running it .I am not a real car show guy but it was Fathers Day and the wife and my wonderful daughter made the day extra special. After all isn't that what it is all .about.

  20. The L A ( Lower Anderson) Fathers Day car show was a lot of fun, there was over 300 cars but the streets were so packed it was impossible to take photo's.

The show didn't start until 10 AM but these photo's were taken mush earlier.HRP

  22. I was at a Father's Day shit-show in my basement. Been chasing an elusive slow drain in my kitchen sink for over a week. Tried a drain cleaner.. NFG. Bought a fancy sink plunger... NFG. Drop the trap under the sink on Saturday, clean. So what's left? Head downstairs on Sunday morning. I plumbed the kitchen waste line back in 1997, plastic to galvanized pipe.

I look at the no-hub connection, the steel pipe is soft... must be where the clog is! So I make a Lowes run for $30 worth of PVC pipe, fittings, a new boot and glue. Chop the 45 degree angle pipe that goes into the main trap for the house, nothing coming out if it, which is good. My son gets volunteered to help, a big strong kid. We take the 10' long plastic piece out and it is heavy... take it outside and it looked like one of my heart arteries that was bypassed. 22 years of a little bit of grease was a huge build up. I whacked the plastic pipe in 1/2 so I could install a clean-out.

We got it back together, took us 2 hours flat from when I started. Sat down on the deck with my 2 boys, they bought me some big cans of Sapporo beer and gave me nice gifts, bird books from one son, the other gave me a nice bonsai tree. Then we went out to a late lunch at a local Mexican place, quesadillas, guacamole and beer... I napped when I got home.

Sometimes, keeping the house going and spending time with my kids doing a real dirty job is almost as good as being out with the car.

Wife and I spent Father's Day driving back to Michigan from Midwest City, OK. We were there for the Buick Club of America 2019 national meet. Got an award for my Caballero wagon and we posed these 2 cars for some magazine pics. Cool pair of cars.

    Mine is the stock one.
