Hot Rods I think that I have an addiction, why did I just buy this Hemi again?

I just bought a 4-71 blown 291" DeSoto that I have absolutely no use for.......yet!
When talking to my wife about my car addiction, I said to her, "hey, it could have been crack cocaine", to which she said, " how bad could that have been?"

 

Hemi's are better than crack but obviously more expensive.

20 years ago a seller had a redone injected race Hemi for sale at the local swap meets. He dragged it from swap meet to swap meet with an eighteen hundred price tag on it. My pockets have never been deep enough, but someone got a deal by today's standards. I wish I just had a picture of it.

I'm currently sitting on a 354 that my pockets still aren't deep enough to rebuild, but at least I'm farther ahead than 20 years ago. I must have an addiction too.

 

I guess he figgers "with one carb I should get better gas mileage"?!!

I bought these today, I guess Airflow research built them in 1976 and they didn't see a lot of life after.

Big exhaust valves.

 

Just got my block back from machine shop. I had him install my Ansen girdle.

 

Ok, now it’s starting to sound like an addiction! If you start giving each of them feminine names we’ll have to send the guys in the white coats to your place...... to pick up the Hemis.

Today I bought this Hemi potvin setup, Hemi sky idler and Danekas 671, check out the hose clamps.

I couldn't resist, I had to mock it up, SOOOO cool! I wish I had a salt flat car now.

 

Put the Mondello ported heads on the block with the Ansen girdle and either the Potvin or Danekas blower with any stout rotating parts you have and you'll have quite an engine!

 

Damn drumyn, you should start a museum....
