I like your brand of Mowers...

Especially if it involves drinking beer during the mowing process.

Me X2... I usually drill and punch out the rivets, weld on nuts to the cross member, then bolt them back together with loctite. But that's if it's my car/truck....

Teetter toddering transmissions in and out is getting harder to do as I am getting older and weaker... Sigh.

I can't bench press hundreds of pounds anymore... Even if it's on my lift!

  16. Worked on the 96 Silverado I just bought. Removed the bent and twisted crossmember. I could have used a piece of channel and easily made a new one. However I might flip the truck. So I put it in my press. beat and twisted and eventually got it serviceable. actually better that I expected. ground off the rivets from the frame and got it bolted back under there. Now the driveshaft carrier bearing is back in proper alighnment. This is one of the cruddiest trucks ive ever had. They lived on a gravel road. and the red clay mud buildup ,dust , oil residue and mud wasp nest build up is terrible. I don't think anyone has ever washed the underside since it was new? and that crud kept falling on me. I took a soaking hot bath and then a shower.

IMG_4652.JPG IMG_4653.JPG I took the cabriolet on another 60 plus mile round trip run. This time to a spring shop and to see my pal, BobbyBuilt. Bad Bob agreed that rear suspension looked sketchy at best and agreed with the plan to get a complete kit from Posie. Bob's 32 Chevrolet highboy is on the lift. Bob was welding up seat mounts for the little Chevy 6 powered coupe with a 5 speed.

Steele still strong? I saw a extended cab dodge dually truck near me that was left on a 2 post lift when a garage fire occured burning the garage down, the truck was left in a upsidedown U shape:eek: bumpers near the ground, cab in the air....guess it depends on how hot it got....also recently used a 4 way lug wrench that had been in a fire, it twisted it without much effort at all rather than breaking a lug bolt loose. they say its also hard to get paint to stick to burnt metal, I wish you good luck with it, you probably have done your research and know what you are doing but cant help but say something (I will be "That guy" this time) Sincerely hope all goes well for ya.

I replaced the bent passenger side inner tie rod on my '37 Chevy project.

Be careful how you place a floor jack when raising a vehicle.

  25. At a local car show with my o/t car, great turnout and weather. Not much for H.A.M.B. friendly stuff but nice to see it in a small community.
