Hot Rods Help me narrow it down, I am looking for a factory color

My nephew is trying to pick out a color for his pickup we are building. You can see the build thread here.

Anyway, he gives me examples of colors he likes, but it's always crap like a garbage truck or a Miller welder etc. I need a code.

I am looking for a solid, non-metallic, medium blue. I am hoping to find a factory color. I showed him the new Toyota TRD blue, but that was too light. The 1965 Chevy C10 color is too light.

Anyone know of a good color I can use for a reference to show him. I need to buy paint and really don't wanna hafta haul my welder to town to color match.

I have a stack of mid 90's color chips. He has gone through them and the only thing we ended up with was a speciality chart by Dupont from the 90's called "hot licks". I doubt they have a crossable number.

That's probably where will end up though Mark.

 

take a panel off the welder, go to the paint shop, let them take a picture of it, then see what the computer matches it to

 

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voodoo Blue is probably as close as you can get to what it seems you are looking for.
