I am going to be running a hood on my Model A coupe. At times, I would like to run no hood, at times just the top using straps, and at times the whole hood (mostly winter time and for standing mile landspeed events since the rule books require a hood).

How do you guys STORE your hood panels when not in use? I don't want them getting bent up or the paint all scarred up....

    Suggestions/pictures?

    Thanks!

I store mine on its back edge standing vertically on a shelf in my garage folded like a W. I’ll post a pic when I get a chance.

It won’t matter where you store it, it’ll get messed up just from opening it, taking it off and taking it apart.

Put a old towel on the shelf....and do like stated above. Then cover if it's a dusty area.
To remove side panels, spin the hinge rods with a 1/4" drill while pulling the rod out.....by pulling on the drill.

I used a couple of Harbor Freight moving blankets. Wrapped the hood pieces in the blankets and laid them on the bed in the spare room.

If you have the time trace the cowl and grille shell on plywood and make a storage buck so it doesn't get sprung just sitting around.

I would set mine on a Mexican blanket covered trash can, worked good when no helpers were around.....

It’s probably not the best method but I’m hoping to have it back on my car soon.
