Well as if I didn't have enough projects. Picked up a 30 Model A sport coupe. Bone stock drove it home. As of now only plans are update fuel system, convert to 12 volt, add a header, install a model B distributor. Also changed wheels to 35 Ford wires, dropped headlight bar and one piece hood. I also picked up a cool torque tube with a borgwarner overdrive in it. It will eventually make it way into the car. 042D2E0D46AB41409B883A2258C8FD0B.jpg

Got more done. Dropped headlight bar, relocated the horn, converted to 12 volt and changed to 35 Ford wires. KIMG0474.jpeg

Well started to rebuild the front end. It was definitely needed. The mechanical brake rod on the driver's side was bent badly. The passenger side spring perch moves in the wishbone and axle. So it's a good thing I have a spare axle and wishbone. Anyone have a spare set of spring perches for a model A?

  9. Are you going to go for the reproduction Lincoln brakes? For what it is worth I like mounting the master cylinder on the replacement battery box, just be sure the box is built strong enough (some suppliers cut corners). Might be a good question for fordbarn.

I am going to run the Lincoln style brakes. I already had a set from another project. I am using a battery box style set up with master cylinder attached.

  13. What is the story on the head? It looks like a Thomas but has a Model B water pump? Is it a one of a kind that Tod made up? I assume the intake is one of those reproduction Thomas manifolds, where did you get it? Using all three carbs would look good but probably run like hell (over carbureted).

The head is the new one from Dan Price same with the water pump which is aluminum with modem bearings and seals. The intake is one I picked up from a buddy. Not sure if repop or not. I do know it doesn't have a boss for the throttle bracket so I got creative with a throttle cable set up. Mounted a cable bracket under center carb block off plate. And a chore pedal inside.

  18. That looks solid, unlike others I have heard about. In an effort to jog your memory, did you buy it from someone in central California, did you buy it from Berts in Colorado? I think the master cylinder is unique, do you know what it is from? Maybe someone could add to the list.

Well it’s been awhile but here are some updates. After test driving decided I did not like the gear ratio on the Mitchell transmission and went with a clings adapter and 39 gear box. Plus if I damaged the transmission I have spare gears for the 39. Also changed to a equilizer intake and headers from Charlie Yapp.
