Got to take my granddaughter to L.O.R.P last night to make her first 1/4 mile passes in a ''Big'' car. She's raced juniors for the last eight years but she was ready for a little more. The Hot Rod Power Tour was there also so it turned in to a pretty cool day for us. Her dad also started in a junior dragster and moved up to this same car. [He's 40 now] and still racing. 25 yrs between pics.
Thats Awesome and the right place to GO REAL FAST...Congrats to you and your Family...It's always great to see Women in the Sport/Hobby... The Old Hotrod is actually looking a bit more period correct with the wheel change too...
Tell your grand daughter the first thought that came to me , here's the next Brittany or Courtney Force.
What a pair of beauties - your Granddaughter and the Fairlane - great to have a Family that truly enjoys racing - look forward to reading about her racing at other events - who has the best ET in the Fairlane?
Great to read these kinds of stories, not many youngsters even care nowadays. Neat car too, I was smitten by a beautiful 64 Fairlane when I was fifteen, about 1969. Was dark burgundy, had a 289/4 speed and as-cast American five spokes.
I like the car, my daughter was making passes in my 64 three months after she got her drivers license. She ran the car until she went to college, she was always a tenth faster than her oldman.
She'll like that comment for sure. My son , it ran 12.60's back then. It has a 302 and an AOD so its more of a cruiser.
