I found this article in a October 1965 Hot Rod Magazine...
Is this the beginnings of what the SEGA is based on....I have posted the article in its entirety deeper in the article there is some reference "Southeastern" drag racing... 20190310_000808(0).jpeg 20190310_000835.jpeg 20190310_000912(0).jpeg 20190310_001611.jpeg 20190310_001010(0).jpeg

  2. Cool article. There's a wide variety of cars shown. Lee Smith's car only ran injected gas. The golden commandos ran injected nitro along with the flying carpet. Then there's mr.norms blown nitro car. The common denominator in all the cars in the article they all ran automatics.

  3. As far as fan approval on automatics the single day biggest drag race in history was the 65 super stock nationals. Held at York us 30 dragstrip the first weekend in August. Over 35000 people showed up to watch a bunch of automatic altered wheelbase cars run. Drag racing was forever changed after that race. There are a few real good threads about the race on the hamb.

  4. Thank you very much for the great article. Information must people don't have access to. Great read, got some good ideas.

We made it to our first race in Alabama, it was great running with SEGA and lining up against the Dixie Twister. 61283820_2570979652912820_6410514610863996928_o.jpg

  7. Man when I saw your car in the pits I didn't think you would take it down the track! Its probably the nicest car there!

  9. For some variety in SEGA's A/FX class, Black & Blue is back. While still a work in progress, we're planning on being at US 43 Dragway this weekend. First run under it's own power Fri night. AFX4.jpg

Hemibert that barracuda looks great did you just stretch the front or did you move the rear forward as well it looks like you did but I’m not sure

As much as I didn’t want to put a stick shift in my car it’s gonna happen I have about 10 runs on the 727 and it’s been nothing but trouble so now the only reason it won’t shift will be if my arm doesn’t move the shifter lol anyhow maybe after i get it done I might be able to make a race to run with you guys I’m sure I will be left in the dust but who knows I might get lucky lol. Anyhow here is a pic of it now it’s not finished yet still gotta get the paint finished up and the injector on it

  13. I moved them both forward. It was 8" in the rear and 16" in the front from stock. Kinda hard to tell since they were already moved some when I started. I'm sure you would be welcome to come run. We're trying to build the A/FX class to at least 8 cars. If there is anything I can do to help you, just holler.

Love the extended front end. Reminds me of what I remember as the Martin Bros. Vega with extended front end. I'm not being disrespectful of your Mopar. You have a good eye.

The 4 A/FX cars will be in Mooresville for the Mooresville Mayhem event on Aug. 17th along with 60+ Southeast Gasser Association cars, there will also be a pre 1972 car corral put on by Junk Yard Saints Car Club.

  20. Congratulations go to Todd Wimberly on his win last night in Knoxville, TN in SEGAs first real A/FX match race. Billed as a last man standing, winner take all race, Todd truly was The Last Man Standing.
Congratulations from Black & Blue Racing.

Watched this morning. Man, those were some Quick lights!

  22. YES, the lights were terrible. Mix that with a driver already operating with a jumbled mind, not a good night for Black & Blue Racing. That being said, they(the lights) were terrible for everyone, not just me.
