Hi, Frank and co.! Hope everyone is well. Here's a very rare press photo from 1962, featuring the previous year's Daytona 500 winner Marvin Panch, Bob Osiecki, and the #60 Dodge Dart that Panch ran in the 1962 Daytona 500. The photo cutline references the world speed record set by Osiecki and driver Art Malone just a few months prior.

Unfortunately, Panch's Dodge lost the rear gear after 19 laps and he was scored P44. Panch was signed by the Wood Brothers shortly thereafter to drive the #21 Ford, and Darel Dieringer would take over the #90 Dodge for seven more Grand National races, paired with teammates Gary Sain and Ralph Earnhardt, drivers of the #91 Dodge.

Thanks for this information Doug. That record setting run by Mad Dog 1V in 1961 with Dodge power cost Osiecki much more than the $10,000 prize. Where he really profited was the Dodge factory support for the 1962 NASCAR season.
