Technical Pontiac streamline -48

New project here at Bob's custom paintshop. Wife need A New shopping car, so she bought a -48 more door poncho. Practicly stock exept drivetrain from a 70s chevy truck 454/400. Runs and drives very nice. Powersteering and column from an 80s van. Unfortunaly the stock rear axle dont like the extra tourqe from the bigblock, so we will fabricate new mounts for a 1041 Volvo axle whit a 3,73 gear, and discbrakes al around. Thats it for now, stay tuned.

Good looking car.......Congratulations!................Not too many 48 Pontiacs being brought back to life. I'm working on a "soft-shell" myself.

 

48 Pontiacs rule! When I was a kid, we had a black 48 torpedo two door. I like it so much I bought one for myself. Kept mine stock except for lowering, wheels and new interior. The new owner subframed it and installed a 350/350 chev...still looks the same but drives a not nicer!
Great 4 door!

 

Looks real good nice and low . Got stock front and rear right now, rides nice and smooth but is a bit too high. Got a 10bolt positraction layin around and will mount it in 4link and bags i think.

Update!!
Cleaned up the firewall and dash. Will paint next week. Gold and tangerine kandy with lace.

Lotsa tape and lining and most of all . Cool and slow. Lace is pretty simpel. Just spray a couple of layers kandy over lace and slowly pull the lace of. On the fish scales i used a Airbrush and painted over a stencil one piece at A time.

Thank you right now its about 5,5$/gal, insane but worth it. Drive a 2005 Dodge Ram hemi as daily so im A big gasoline consumer

Mounted rear fenders and some chrome. Luckely all 8 layers of kandy is matching the rest of the car, painted the fenders apart from the car, that makes it difficult to match the color properly but i think ive got it
