I can't quite pinpoint this one, Rootie. The car looks like the same one that Jimmy Jackson drove to 2nd in the 1946 500. And it might be one of the ex-Boyle pre-war cars. Tom Sarafoff of Terre Haute, Indiana entered cars for several years up into the early 1950s mostly without much success. But I'm just not sure about either the driver or the year on this one.

    Thanks!

It's Cliff Griffith 1950. And yes it is said to be the Cliff Woodbury's 1928 Boyle car after many changes over the years.

I looked for the black and white photo that was posted a couple weeks ago of five guys by the ‘59 Caddy quarter panel but couldn’t find it. I think these are the same guys. When I worked at GM’s Electro-Motive Division there was an executive garage and the workers there made sure the big shots cars were always clean and in tip top condition. I’d bet that’s what these guys did.
The cars at EMD were a mix from all divisions, this might have been a Cadillac executive garage.

The tan colored house in these photos appears to be the one used in the movie "L A Confidential" where Bud White rescued the kidnapped and abused girl.

Late '50s and early '60s Mopars were well known for rusting away on the East Coast. When may dad left the Marine Corps in 1964, we moved from California to Massachusetts for a short time (lasted one winter, then back to California we went). My dad bought a 3 year old '61 Plymouth, already the floor was so rusty that the passenger seat was supported by a piece of wood. He slid on some ice and crunched the right front fender on a snow bank. The car had to be junked because a usable replacement fender could not be found locally.

I think 60-62 was a real high water mark for Chrysler so I enjoy the pics.
