Well, I'm an old geezer now, but as a young single 18-year old with a '57 Chevy 'vert I never ran with the quarter windows up. I thought it looked dorky. Even with the top up, if it was nice enough to roll a window down, they all came down. Maybe the quarter-windows up was a regional thing?

 

Lets see......Is it Police....or Ploic.......

Back when I was a kid everyone wanted cigar boxes to store all your “valuables” in like marbles, coins or what ever you had. Used to be able to go to the corner store or drug store and ask for them. They always seemed to have a couple. The wooden ones were prized.
