Yes, I will really miss Gary. I hadn`t heard the news, so it was a shock to get a call from his wife tonight. Say what you like about this message board, the Internet in general and how goofy these things are, but you get to make friends with great guys like Gary through what we do here. I will miss the guy a great deal. I really value the pic that Tim posted. Tough to take, this one.

 

I’m in agreement with you on that.
I’m also going to miss Gary I had hoped to meet him in person one day.
I was happy to have him as a friend.
I’m left wondering what caused his sudden departure.

 

Blue, I believe he had a fall a few days prior to his passing and suffered a brain bleed.

No matter how it happens it’s tough to lose a good friend.
And Gary was definitely a good friend.

BLUTO was a big loss in April and last week KRIPFINK passed away.

 

I found out this past weekend that Cabriolet Fan ( Kenneth Nash) passed away last May, he was Deuce Roadster's brother. HRP

Bill Mumaw @BillM passed in May due to brain cancer. He still owned his 32 five window that he bought in 1959.

 

In May we lost DABIRDGUY (Glenn) a fixture on the Hamb Old Farts Club. HRP

 

The latest addition to the list is Bruce Lancaster ( the Librarian ) HRP

 

I have noticed photobucket has ruined some of the photo's that I and others have posted, if you happen to have a good photo of Collin Casey or Dan Ross please send them to me via a conversation.

If you have photo's of any other past members who's photo's are missing or ruined by photobucket please get in touch with the member that posted the members demise so we can continue to honor these members that can no longer reply to any new threads but leave behind volumes of information that will be available for manHRPy years to come. I was able to locate a photo of Collin Casey, Jay Carnine & Dick Spadaro , still looking for a photo of Dan Ross. HRP

 

Several months ago I started meeting a group of old fart car guys for breakfast on Thursday mornings.
A great bunch of guys to spend an hour or so eating and talking with. Unfortunately just in the past few months two of them have passed.
Really wish I would have gotten to know about these guys earlier. I listen to stories of others from this group who have passed before I was able to meet them. Just feeling fortunate to have been welcomed by what’s left of this group of car guys.

Many Friday afternoons I took the long way home from Modern Welding School to stop by Spadaro's.
Many of those stops were to see if he was interested in the early Fords I had picked.
Those parts sales were used to buy gas to get to school the following week.

Another photo of Bob K..... a dear friend and a good guy. I miss him stopping by my place on his way to God knows where....

 

Stogy, thanks for posting this. Don was a great guy, I met him on the phone at least 10 years before joining the HAMB. We talked on the phone often, and I knew about his difficult times during the last year of his life. He was a genius in so many fields, and quite the historian. I miss him !

 

Henry Dana (Dana Red) passed away Thursday 8/6/2020. HRP

 

We need to add Blackrat40 Mickey Davidson to the list, who passed due to pancreatic cancer.

 

Opening this thread is always a little nerve-wracking, then depressing when reading the name of the latest addition.

But on a positive note, it motivates me to get off my ass, finish my car, and get out to meet all you other hairy-legged hot rodders.

Speaking of those who have left their mark on this site. What ever happened to Falcongeorge? He seemed to be quite knowledgeable and would answer lots of guys questions.

 

I'm pretty sure he got banned. He was "last seen" 3/24/17.

Now back to the original topic. I sure miss many of these folks. Some I knew personally and some I felt like I knew even though we never met face-to-face. The ones I am thinking of left this world a better place because they had been here.
