For a looooooooong time I've been looking for a 56 Ford Truck...(Very specific!)
Then I "fell for" the 56 GMC trucks...which led to 56 Chevy Trucks...(cleaner!)

    Finally:
The other day I Finally found My "Dream" Truck!.....In Hawaii!
Plan on using it as daily Driver / Hauler...
My Buddy gave me a tow hitch for a 58 so I can Tow my Hot Rods.

    Condition:
Got some rust here and there L&R Windshield panels, Lower doors...(nothing major)
Roof line, Front & Rear fenders & Hood , Bed is CLEAN!
383sb - 4 speed-700R - Dana - AC - Heidts IFS (needs new bushings and hoses and stuff)
And it wears really nice Americans - Stance Good!

Life's too short to drive POS Cars everyday!.............my 10¢.....

That is one nice looking truck. I wanted one of those real bad in the mid 70's and even sold my 48 to go buy one only to have it sold out from under me and ended up buying a 57 Panel that I ended up trading back for the 48.

Had a '56 big window with a '57 front clip as my first truck many years ago. Gave $200 for it and drove it home. 283/3 speed, formerly owned by the local speed shop. Fun little truck with EVERY piece of rust that ever appeared on a 55-59 truck cab! It was rough but drove it a couple years, would love to have another one. Yours is a lot nicer.

Great looking truck and I have a soft spot for those wheels.

Let me ask a ? to you Chevy guys. I am in the market for one as well, is there weak spots/areas that rust out on the frames? I know rockers, can corners and door hinge pockets but what else . Body mounts?. Didn't mean to still thread just want to get opinions.

  16. Yes there is a crossmember right behind the cab. and sometimes dirt will collect on the frame where it attaches and cause rust out. of course cab corners headlight area and lower front fender are rust prone.

  20. Check above the windshield too, probably the worst place to repair on a 55-59, this is mine without rust.

Thanks. Have you seen the other Morris Minor build on here? Do you know anything about the Lil Varmint that races with Southeast Gassers? Good stuff, check them out if you have a chance.
