Think local race teams , preseason raing swap meets. Go and support your local track and ask around. You can get any parts to rebuild them and different sets of gears can be bought cheap used .

Some of the ones used in modern circle track cars aren't all that attractive hanging under a roadster or coupe though. Fantastic for running at Bonneville though. Last time I was at Bonneville I talked to a guy rsolacing a diesel powered mini truck who said he lived back in one of the circle track hubs on the east coast and had picked up the one he had from a race team who sold it dirt cheap.

Truthfully? I’d buy one from speedway. It’ll be in stock, they’ll answer the photo, and your not going to have to deal with questionable return/ warranty type issues on such a big ticket item.

If you are looking for a Halibrand rear end I would contact Dennis Frings in Concord NC. I know he has several in stock, both new and used. His handle here on the HAMB is Frames. Just look at my user name. I know a thing or two about quickchange rear ends.

I bought a Winters QC Champ for my roadster, damn nice rear end. Nothing negative to say. The whine from the blower off sets the whine from the QC. All is good.

Do you want a street rod style or a race car style? Big difference. Speedway carries both. Then there is the question of spool, locker, etc. Speedway carries all of them. What hubs? Wide 5, 5 on 4.75/5.00" or stock type direct bolt axles? Speedway carries all of those. What style brakes? Floated, bolt on/weld on disc or drums? Speedway has all of those.....seeing a pattern?

I would call Speedway once I knew exactly what I wanted. Tons of options out there.

Actually I know three things. I was going to say that I know four things, but then it would seem that I am just showing off.

  17. What are your parameters ?

"Hey, I'm looking for some tires". Okay ... bicycle tires, truck tires, trailer tires, airplane tires, dolly tires, snow tires, tractor tires, or what ??

You racing, showboating, putt putting, cruising, parking, ... or what with your car ?

Tons of quick changes. Old, new, Halibrand/Halibreak, Winter's, Rodsville, Frankland, Cyclone Racing Equipment ... you name it.

PLENTY of threads on here already. Judged by wallet, judged by needs.

Maximum horsepower ?? CYCLONE RACING EQUIPMENT. Mickey Thompson put them on his land speed record car ... 4 of them. Only one proven to take 700 plus horsepower. Look it up, or ask @Cyclone Kevin

    It is not cheap.

ALL THE REST ... are cheap - er.

All of rest, are significantly less as strong, but maybe they're more pretty to your eye, or your wallet. Mileage will vary.

    Different strokes. Different folks.

Winters Champ in the back of my Stude wagon.
Bought it caliper to caliper from them. Zero problems in about 6 years.

I ordered a Winters V8 through Dutchman. It took a while, because one of the components was on backorder from Winters at the time. They built it to my specified width with both 5x5.5 and 5x4.5 bolt patterns. It was a nice piece.

Not in the market for a Quickchange, but I was playing with some ideas around them some years ago, and Winters were willing to send me actual physical literature and stuff halfway around the world. So many companies consider unusual inquiries a waste of time, so that's a vote in Winters' favour.

I've been waiting to see if anyone would recommend me. Thanx @Kiwi 4d.

If I were any of you and wanted a Quickchange I would contact me.

I am a dealer for Winters and discount to Alliance Members. My specialty is custom QCs for street driven hot rods. I will help you spec out your Quickchange and make sure you get exactly what you want and need. I'm a proponent for the larger (3/4 ton) as they are measurably stronger than the V8 units. I can also supply non-Winters options and rear ends.

And who else answers the technical QC questions on the HAMB?
