OK, I'll give you some slack. Just curious to see what you did to that great car.

I wasn’t initially convinced on your wheel tyre change ideas. But dang it does look cool now with your additions. Black on black .
I am sure Mr Jorgensen would approve. now get out there and just plain enjoy >>>>

Here's a 3/4 side view of progression on the 40.
4" axle, Eyes reversed, full spring, 2" shackles, full weight on the suspension.
Decided on white walls for now.
Could flip 'em if I want another look..

Did you buy an aftermarket drop axle or have your factory one dropped?

Aside from the 2" shackles on the front you have nailed my exact plan for my '40 Tudor. Please let me know how it rides with that setup. I have a couple more projects before I get to my suspension.

It's a magnum axle, I took the long shackles off, and put the stock ones back on as it was too low. I've done several spring in front of axle Fords with this set up, and the ride is great.

  19. The terms ''cherry and bitchen' apply here. You were the right person to get the car. Mister J. would approve, no doubt.

  24. Very Sweet Ride!

I get the part about still having the guy around though. As a transporter, that is the only depressing part of my business. We lose so many great car guys every week & it can be hard on the widows when I show up to take away a car that holds so many memories for them. Recently had a widow ask me to let her leave where the car was being stored first, so she didn't see me leave with the car & another one that was so upset & crying uncontrollably that I finally told her ...I would take care of everything & call her when it was delivered

Enjoy your new baby & keep the memories you have of the gentleman with the car!

    God Bless

It's hard to do a whole lot of changes to a car so nice. Hope you really enjoy it with your little updates to make it yours.

Well, it's been an effort, but it's drive-able now.
Of course I had to do the suspension thing, you know, get it down a few feet..
Tires and caps were necessary, in my head anyway.
    The wiring was a disaster.
New Drake running boards, boy are they nice.
The entire fuel system was a disaster.
Crudely thrown together shit everywhere I turned.
But it's good now, so I'll stop bitching...

Nothing like a 40 Ford especially a black one . Take this advice from a guy that lives 40 Fords . If you are going to drive the car a lot like I do mine . leave the radials on . They really make the car handle better and a real pleasure to drive* Good luck with the car
